“Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one.”
So let me tell you something, giving your honey a gift is meant to be a gesture of love, that’s all.
With it being a gesture, that means it can be as simple as a handwritten note.
It’s simply a sign of your love for her.
Now, not every lovely lady out there loves to receive gifts, maybe she prefers quality time together.
Regardless, this is a list for anyone who’s got a lady that they want to show a little bit extra love to, or need inspiration for a special gift for her birthday, anniversary, career milestone, or whatever the occasion may be.
Is giving a thoughtful gift for the one you love an absolute necessity? Maybe not, but it is kind, and why not be kind?
Just remember, it’s not about the price tag, it’s about your intention, your love, and your effort.
I guarantee you, if you bring your girl a sweet cup of Starbucks out of the blue, she’ll adore you.
The girl who loves you for you just wants to receive that same love back. And a thoughtful gift to remind her of your love is always a good idea.
Who wouldn’t love to receive a personalized gift? It’s one of the best feelings in the world.
But you know what may feel even better than receiving a gift? Giving a gift.
And trust me, you’ll feel so much happiness inside knowing that your gift is going to bring so much joy to the girl you love most.
So, just remember every girl is wonderful and unique in her own way, but the list I curated below should give you at least one good idea of what to get her.
I hope she loves it!
Let’s go through the list.
Flowers
A classic that’ll never go out of style.
Flowers are always a good idea, no matter the occasion. By the way, if there is an occasion, make sure to pick us some flowers…always.
If you really wanna be sweet, casually ask her what her favorite type of flower is…she may even prefer plants to flowers, so ask at some point in your time together to get to know her more, and personalize something even as simple, and wonderful, as flowers.
Want some bonus points? Ask the florist to wrap the bouquet in tissue paper and a ribbon. Want some extra bonus points? Pair the flowers with chocolate or wine.
Goodness gracious, if you come home with that, your girl will never forget it, I promise.
If you’re in a rush and don’t have time to go to a florist, or they’re not in your local area, stop by Trader Joe’s or a supermarket near you, and you can easily find flowers for $10 or less.
Even a single-stem rose is perfect.
By the way, if you’ve got a long-distance honey, I highly recommend using the fabulous company Fresh Sends to have a beautiful bouquet show up at her door.
Teapot + Tea Cup Set, with Tea Cookies
Yes, you do need all 3.
Trust me, if your girl loves tea, get her a cute teapot accompanied by a tea cup set (1-2 teacups will do) or a mug, and then add some tea cookies to wrap it up.
Going a little above and beyond expectations is always a great idea.
Jewelry
Ohh, the other classic.
This one can be a little tricky if you’re not familiar with your girl’s taste in jewelry…
My recommendation? Take a look at her day-to-day jewelry pieces, or special occasion jewelry, then start finding some pieces online or in-store that you think she’d like, and casually send her the pictures asking for her opinion.
If she doesn’t wear any jewelry, ask her if she’s interested in wearing any and see what she says.
You can always also take her to a store and let her pick something out on her own that she’d love. That depends on your girl and if she’d be comfortable with doing that.
Here are 4 sites I love for jewelry:
Purse, Bag, or Wallet
Every girl’s gotta carry her stuff.
She may prefer a shoulder bag, a backpack, a tote, or maybe just a cardholder.
Pay attention to what she usually wears, then ask her if she has a dream bag in mind. See what she says, and then see if you can either get that exact item, or something similar.
You can always get a great bag without spending thousands of dollars. A Dior bag never hurts, of course, but that’s just my dream bag.
Here are 3 places to find something worthwhile:
Concert Tickets
There’s always something extra special about experiencing a one-of-a-kind night together.
If her favorite artist is coming to town, or you can fly to a different city, surprise her with concert tickets and make the most of the night.
Meaning, have dinner beforehand (at home or her favorite restaurant) or after the concert, or maybe even go through a drive-through afterward and pick up something delicious for the drive, or to enjoy cuddled up on the couch.
Simple, yet forever memorable.
An Experience
Think about something your girl has always wanted to do or an activity she loves.
It could be anything: pottery, brunch, an amusement park, stargazing, a mini road trip, building a fort, shopping, a picnic at the beach, surfing, Sephora, buying books, exploring museums, baking, or whatever she loves to do.
Plan it ahead of time, tell her to get ready, pick her up, and take her on an experience.
Weekend Trip
Want to spend extra time together? Book a weekend trip.
This can be a staycation, a cabin stay, or anywhere you want to go for a 2-3 day trip. If it’s something you’re able to do, please do it. I guarantee it’ll be a weekend that you talk about for years to come.
Stepping outside of your everyday life and adventuring somewhere new will bring out different sides to you, and you’ll get to know each other on an even deeper level.
Even if you’ve been together for years, there’s always more to learn about one another.
If you’re in Colorado or have always wanted to visit this beautiful state, I always recommend a weekend away in Aspen. If that’s on your travel bucket list, here’s my guide for 48 Hours in Aspen to help plan your trip.
Boat Day
If you live by the ocean, a lake, or even a local reservoir, rent a boat for a couple of hours and get on the water.
If you’re not into boats, rent a paddle board, a canoe, a jetski, or anything that would make you two happy.
If anything, you can always bring food, drinks, and an umbrella and sit on the shore next to the water.
It’s the absolute best.
Gift Basket of Favorite Things
This is such a great and easy gift to give.
Even if your relationship is fairly new, you can still gather a few things that your girl loves.
Here are some things you can gather. Her favorite…
- Drink
- Snack
- Type of Book
- Candy
- Fragrance
- Coffee or Tea
- Chocolate
- Cozy Socks
- Mug
- Journal
Of course Sephora is on the list, it’s our favorite place in the world.
Even if your girl doesn’t wear or use a lot of makeup, she can use the gift card to buy herself a fragrance, body care, or skin care.
If you want to spice up the gift card, attach it to the bouquet…you’ll thank me later.
Polaroid Camera, Film, & Mini Album
This is such a cute gift.
It’s thoughtful, personal, and super sweet.
Plus, if you really want to make your girl feel special, give this as a gift before a trip so she can bring it along and take pictures of the trip. Then when you get back, she’ll be able to put all the Polaroids in the mini album.
Listen to this idea, keep your favorite Polaroid in your wallet or somewhere you can always see it.
It’s a nice way to always keep each other close.
Bubble Bath Set + Cozy Robe
This is always a wonderful gift idea.
If your girl isn’t a bath lover, you can switch this out with a shower set instead.
Otherwise, gather a set of bath bubbles, bath bombs, rose petals, a dry brush, a candle, body lotion, body oil, body scrub, body wash, or beautiful soap and pair it with an ultra-cozy bath rob (and a big hug) and you’re golden.
Such a sweet and considerate gift.
I have 3 favorite places that I love to shop for all things bath:
And then…you can take a bath together!
Books, Candle, & Candy
The ultimate trifecta if you ask me…
Three easy things to find that’ll certainly light your girl’s heart up.
Discover her favorite author, favorite candle scent, and favorite candy, and bam, you’ve got yourself something good.
If you need a recommendation for a great candle, I love every candle from Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, and World Market. You simply can’t go wrong.
If you aren’t sure which books to get her, I recommend a few poetry books with a special note inside.
Can’t go wrong with a book about love.
Record Player + Vinyl
Last, but not least.
One of the coolest and most creative gifts that anyone would love to open. There are plenty of places to find record players nowadays, so pick your favorite, then find a couple of vinyls from her favorite artists.
She’ll love it, I have no doubt.
Love,
Anastasiya
