Hi, I'm Anastasiya

Raise your hand if you’re undeniably and uncontrollably an anxious person.

Perfect, me too.

Isn’t it so fun?

To constantly worry and have thousands thoughts streaming through your mind at all times…

And then kind of freaked out when you have no thoughts?

So then you start panicking and overthinking?

It’s so weird and overwhelming and exhausting.

But, I know that there are ways through it.

How do I know this?

Because I have suffered through anxiety for long enough to figure out that there are ways to swim with the currents rather than against them.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what I’ve found to be the best medicine for the irrevocable nonsense that is anxiety.

Now, what is this medicine I speak of?

Honestly, there are many tips and tools for easing the stress of anxiety…

Like music, writing, playing, etc.

But, at the end of the day, the best way I support myself is by bringing my attention back to reality, the moment that I’m in, with some reassurances.

I have 14 reassurances that I tell myself that seem to consistently soothe my mind when it goes haywire.

Here are those 14 things I tell myself.

I hope you find some solace in them, you deserve it.

And just remember, most of the time you’re anxiety is lying to you…

You know the truth, stand firm in it.

By the way, does fire calm you like it does me? What about holiday lights?

Maybe it’s just me.

  • 20 years from now, you will look back at where you are now and realize that all of the anxiety, insecurities, pain, and fear you were feeling were just temporary and unnecessary.
  • Find people that compliment you, not complete you. You’re complete by being you. The sooner you realize this, the less anxious you’ll feel every day.
  • You will never be this young ever again, take advantage of your youth, growing older can wait.
  • The days are long and the years are short. Be still, don’t rush, let things flow, and never force.
  • If you constantly feel like you’re lacking, then you are. If you feel like you’re complete, then you are.
  • Don’t be fooled, it’s okay to spend time alone. There’s nothing wrong with solitude, it’s actually the most peaceful thing you can enjoy and master.
  • Don’t fight your pain, it’ll take 10x longer to forget it. Accept how you feel and let it flow in and out of you. Everything is temporary, including pain.
  • When totally overwhelmed, put your attention on others and be intrigued by them.
  • Once you get out of your own mind, you’ll realize that you are in control, not the other way around.
  • How you want to feel is a choice. It’s not easy, but it’s a choice.
  • It’s okay if you feel like no one understands you. Some of us speak a language only we understand. And then once in a while, we will encounter those that speak the same language as us. But don’t go crazy looking for those people, they will find you when the time is right.
  • Don’t be afraid of time, appreciate it.
  • Stay away from people who are bitter and hateful, they just can’t see the beauty of the world because of their own blocks. Wish them well and move along.
  • Cherish yourself, you only have one body, brain, and soul.

What do you think?

All of these sound simple enough, but sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to remind ourselves of.

Or, we discount them because we assume we’ve mastered them.

But truthfully, we forget how wonderful simple things are, and how much they can bring us peace when we focus on getting them right.

Rather than putting all our energy on the big achievements, and the big moments, and the big, extraordinary things.

The big things are wonderful, no doubt about that.

But life altogether? It’s the everyday things that makeup our lives.

Like how we wake up in the morning.

How we feel when when the sun is out.

Laughing with people we love.

Laying on the grass as the sun begins to fall.

As anxious people, our solace is found in the simple things.

I promise you.

So, next time you’re having a moment of anxiety, untrap yourself from your mind and focus on the things around you.

Sit on the ground, hug a tree, feel the breeze.

Ground yourself in reality.

Then tell yourself your own reassurance.

It’s all okay.

You’re just here, in the moment, you and me.

Love,

Anastasiya

P.S. Do you like to receive love notes throughout the week?

That’s a silly question, of course you do!

Well, everyday I spend time crafting an email filled with love, inspiration, weird stories, existential questions, and most of all, I like to write directly to people like you that are inspired by life.

Or just like to hear about my embarrassing stories.

Either way, we want you there.

Who’s this we?

I’ll show you when you get there.

See you soon!
